I had a PM or two requesting more detailed information about this mod, so I thought I would share some details and pics. Hope it helps:
I got a box of brackets and two 5/16"-24x1/2" stainless button-head bolts.
Here are the brackets:
I then opened up the holes in the brackets with a 5/16" drill bit while the brackets were in a vice.
I then unscrewed the signals from the stock mirror brackets and fastened them to the brackets at a 30 degree angle using the button-head bolt. It looks like this:
I then used the stock bolts that hold the brake hose to the fork (on the right side) and the matching unused bolt on the left side of the forks. It looks like this:
