Default Rear Tire ?

If anyone can help I'm looking for part numbers for 180 rear tires, on the stock Deuce wheel other than Dunlop. I did a search but could'nt find part numbers. What are you guys running on your bikes? Feel free to P.M. me if you want. Thanks in advance.

I don't understand. You want a part number to a 180mm rear tire that ISN'T a dunlop? Or do you want recommendations for good tires to replace a Dunlop? Or are you looking for the dimensions of the stock Dunlop?

I was under the impression that the stock Dunlop on the Deuce was 160/70R17 in the rear, not a 180.. Of course if you have a 180 kit on there, then of course the numbers will be whatever you have on the side of the tire..

When it's time for me to replace my tires, I'll probably be going with the Pirelli Night Dragons, myself (i'm running a 200 rear though).. a lot of people run Metzeler 880ME's.. and some run Avon tyres.. Just gotta do a search for the right size that you need

Not to hijack your thread, but I'm curious about this as well. I happen to like the metzeler me880. The deuce comes stock with a 160 tire (dunlop), but through a bunch of research, from what I understand a 180 will fit on the stock deuce wheel. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 180 on my deuce and will probably go with a metzeler me880. I have one on my sporty and its a great tire. Looks great, rides smooth, handles great, and has a nice beefy profile to fill out the rear fender. My only concern will be the inside of the fender struts on the deuce because they protrude fairly far inside the wheel well of the rear fender. So, has anyone run a 180 metzeler on their deuce stock wheel?

Ooh i see what he means.. the width of the stock wheel will hold a 180 on it. Gotcha, and no idea.

@Silent Bob,

I have a 2002 Deuce. I am on my 3rd 180 size Screamin Eagle Dunlop. I didn't need to change to a narrow belt, didn't need to change the swingarm. (The belt is close to the tire, but it doesn't rub at all.)

You are correct about the inner fender struts, the right side one was very close, so I ordered the original equipment one for the 2004 Screamin Eagle Deuce. The 04 S.E. Deuce came with the 180 tire, and as such, the right side inner fender strut is lower profile than the regular Deuce's inner fender strut. There's plenty of room now.

I also ordered the black plastic inner fender / splash guard for the 04 Screamin Eagle Deuce. (I'm talking about the one that fits in FRONT of the rear tire.) It provides more clearance between itself and the tire than the standard Deuce's splash guard does. The standard one had enough clearance, but the fit of the 04 S.E. version "looks better".

I want a 180 tire for my deuce. Just dont want a dunlop. So i'm trying to find part numbers for other tires. Also recomendations on where to puchase from. I want a part number for a tire that someone is actually running on their stock deuce. I dont want to buy the wrong tire. Thanks for the info so far.

Hey cruiser73, that's great info, thanks. Where did you order the SE inner fender strut from, how much was it, and do you know a part number for it off hand? I think I'll do the same. It looked like a 180 may just barely squeeze in there with the stock struts, but this is a much better idea and for sure won't rub because, like you mentioned, the SE Deuce had a 180. And I assume it was the same wheel as on the regular Deuce...

I'm going to do some research and see if there are any other tire brands that have a 180 with the same exact dimensions of the dunlop. Just because both brands are a 180, for example, doesn't mean they are exactly the same width. I found that out when comparing tires for the Sporty.

Is this the part # for that tire (metzeler me880), or is there more than one size with that number.

Tires don't have part numbers..they have model numbers and size numbers.. you're probably wanting a 180/70R17
