What's the huge fan for by the slim? To get that wind in the hair feeling sitting on it?

I agree that the Sporty looks VERY nice....a good "garage built" look to it. The new Slim Line is basically just a re-worked Crossbones as has been pointed out on another thread. Telescopic forks replace the Springer, and a bobbed fender and narrow rear wheel replace what was on the Crossbones. It's a different look, but I can see how it may appeal to some. If it were me, I would've left the rear end the same as was on the Crossbones and offered the telescopic front end for those who didn't like the Springer style.

I still say they should have dug deeper in the parts bin, the softy looks like another lo version, and the rear fenders fugly at best.

They put a fan on the engine when running the bike so it doesn't overheat.

im gonna go ahead and say that the moco has once again failed to produce a bike that looks anything like what people will want. Both will need lots of mods to look good. Im thinking HD should just produce rolling frames and let people build their own lol. They just dont seem to get what looks good. I understand that they are under restrictions that we as owners can ignore, but I dont think that Im alone in saying that I would not ride either of those without extensive modifications

As many tastes and individual preferences that are out there and proven by the many awesome looking bikes on this Forum, it would be impossible for HD to introduce a new model that's not loved by some and hated by others; this explains why they also sell so many aftermarket parts. I think this is a very good thing. Also, any HD that has come off the line since the old Flatheads, and probably before, where "parts bin" bikes. Companies cannot survive without line extenstions, even Ford, Chevy, Porsche, and Ferrari...they all do it. To design a new style every year using new parts would be financial suicide. The new Slim Line looks similar to bikes I see in The Horse and other Grassroots cycle mags.
