Is this true? I know a few of you out there have lowered your Blackline....I'm just not sure if you have ABS or not. My Harley dealer said they tried to lower it using lowering bolts and because of the ABS, it cant go any lower than it already is. I asked if progressive would work and they said no, no matter what method I want to use, it can't go any lower.
Has any of you successfully lowered your Blackline with ABS, and if so, what type of method did you use and how much did it lower it?
Poo Poo on your dealer. Progressive's or the bolts will work. The only lowering issue I have seen for any of the softails with ABS was with the shotgun shocks because the compresser would not clear the ABS unit.
I don't believe the lowering bolts will work becuase the bike comes from the factory lowered. Any of the air suspension methods will work provided you can find a place for the compressor (as Misbehaven pointed out), and they have the ability to go lower than it came from the factory.
Lowering bolts will work, I had them on my blackline before I switched them out to a set of progressive 422's. the only problem with air ride is the compressor placement unless you can get a kit with a built in compressor, I know there out there but I dont remember the brand off hand.
Thanks guys. Jay, just to confirm, if i use lowering bolts l dont need to worry about the ABS being in the way? If this is the case, i will do it myself. I plan on doing progressive eventually.
Jay, the way you relocated your rear signals is exactly what id like to do. How did you do it? I appreciate your help!
