Just rode my '12 Limited 2500+ miles from Georgia to Iowa and back last week, in temps up to 104 in the shade. System activated at stops and turns more times than I could count. Don't know yet about any long term effects, as I'm only up to about 3500 miles on this bike, but I don't yet see any downside. Don't think I idled for much more than a minute at any one stop, and as soon as I moved again, full power activated almost instantly.

I know we second guess the MOCO on many things, but I figure that this was engineered for a reason, and I don't see any reason to get it deactivated, least not for my style of riding.

I have had the same experience. I finished a ride this week from Idaho to Oklahoma and back on my 2012 Ultra Limited. The temperature management system would kick in when at idle and immediately return to normal function when the throttle was opened up a bit. The temperatures were over 100 on most days. The system is user selectable in that you can turn it off and on by forward pressure on the throttle. I agree with you. I see no reason to disable this function.

I have mine enabled. If I feel it kick on it reminds me to be mindful of the situation and temperature of the bike. I'd hate for it to cook itself while in traffic, so I had mine enabled to give me a heads up it may be getting to hot for the current condition. To be honest I don't see no downside to having it on. It was designed to reduce heat well manage heat is probably more accurate. Though certain models the dealer has to enable. Rolling the throttle forward only works for certain models.

I Got my enabled about 4 weeks ago on my 2010 fatboy lo. It has activated several times since then. I really don't see a downside.
