Right, which I believe means semi-metalic? A semi-metalic or metalic pad is not recommended if you want to maintain somewhat of a show quality finish on a high dollar polished or chrome rotor is my only point....and I could be way wrong on that. Sure it'll work, any pad will work, but some will damage the finish more quickly.
Of course any pad is going to cause some wearing on the rotor...that's a given...but a "sintered" or metalic pad I do believe is going to be more aggressive and damage the finish more severely than say an organic pad like a Lyndall and I'm sure there are others.
Edit or I guess I should say discolor the finish maybe.
Edit #2 not to set off the alarm bells and I am sure those with much more knowledge than I have will comment and may tell me I'm full of chit. Just wanted to mention it for nothing more than maybe something to look into. Damn I should't have done this on the phone. Didn't me to create another post damn phone.
