Haven't been around in awhile but been riding. This year decided to upgrade from my xl1200 to bigger bike. Came across a 2007 deuce. Under 4k miles at a local dealer. They are asking $12,009 which doesn't seem bad. Has small scratch in tank and previous owner cut front turns off. I can get into the bike for a bit under $8k.
So what are your opinions on the bike? Its all stock except has the hd touring seat on it.
Anything I need to look for? Really like the feel of the bike, almost has the feel of the sporty.
I am partial to the deuce, like the lines and its a "sporty" bike, wouldn't want to ride two up on long trips with it, but its a great single rider bike, I think you'll be happy with it. work the deal a little more, at least get them to throw some accessories in
My '05 is a 95" performance build, 104Q/93HP. Mustang vintage solo seat with passenger pillon and both backrest. I have mounted one saddle bag to the clutch side, tool bag on the bars and have put in several 500 mile days and my wife and I make 300-400 mile rides on the weekends; she has no issues with the Mustang passnger pillon. She has legs so I have adjusted passenger peg to accomodate. You can tour the Deuce, just have to know how to set it up.
The Deuce was the red-headed step child of the softail line. When searching for accessories, you will become very familiar with "fits all '99 and later, EXCEPT THE DEUCE", so be forewarned. It's a coo bike and you will enjoy it. If you are ever in the market for the SS Quick Detach windshield or a Mustach Bar, let me know.
i ordered the first Deuce in northern Indiana and still have it. i have approx $10,000 of accessories and upgrades. i just finished pushing the engine to 100 Hp and installed a 180mm rear tire. i'm anxious to get it out of my basement. i couldn't be happier with any other bike. hope you feel the same after you get yours.
My Deuce handles & rides great. You will have to get used to the extra rake when doing tight slow speed turns. I have a LePera 2-Up Silhouette Deluxe leather seat & no problem with all day rides. I think they could come down some on the price or as said throw in some goodies..
lots of softies but not everybody has a Deuce. Makes the mods a little tougher to come by but that means you'll not have a dozen clones at meet and greets!!!!!
Love my 2007, its the only year of deuce with the 96 and 6 speed.. makes for a very unique bike!! there are some great ideas on this site for the deuce..
