Default Vance & Hines FuelPak

Looking into getting the Vance & Hines FuelPak.

I plan on either putting a D&D Low cat or the Rush crossover pipes on as well as the joker machine diamond a/c.

Other than that, not planning on much work, so just want to make sure that this fuelpak would be sufficient.

Thanks for any advice.

Default Get A Hold Of Tech Support

BEFORE you do the mod why not get in touch with V&H tech support on line. They allow you to "look up" possible mod scenarios to get their latest fuel pak settings. If what you want to do isn't listed, you can leave them a message with what you have and what you want to do. They will get back to you with what they have to offer!

The fuel pac will do OK for just pipe and A/C.

But there are some in here who didn't like it at all and some that's fine with it.

If U ever do cams U'll need a better tuner to get her dialed in.

Also I've read a lot of threads in here where the fuel mileage goes down with it. Seems like I've read about a lot of members getting 35-38 mph after install and a couple even as low as 32.

I would definitely check out the Thundermax autotune ECU. It offers a lot of flexibility and automatically adjusts your mapping as you ride.

Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like I'd be better sticking away from it.

You didn't say what kind of bike/engine this is. As mentioned, if you just need to compensate for pipes and air cleaner, you should be ok. The V&H maps are preset based on your configuration (bike mfg/year/model/exhaust mfg/exhaust model/baffle type/ECM cal/engine type). This is kind of a "one size fits all" approximation for that particular set-up. There is no tuning capability other than fuel shut-off RPM to try to decrease decel popping if you have some. If you plan on modifying your engine in the future, invest in a different tuner. If you get the V&H, they recommend using the settings from the website and not the instructions that come with the FP. The website is the most up-to-date.

I have a 2011 Crossbones and installed the V&H FuelPak along with the XiED harness and the engine runs prefectly. All I've done and plan on doing to the engine are the SE air intake and an exhaust system.

I have had two (different bikes) and both worked great for me. I think the one thats on my 09 fatty actually helped bring the engine temp down,
