Question Console options for 2011 Fatboy Lo?

Hello folks, I've been away from here for a bit, but thinking I'd like to get a little done to my bike before the riding season starts. First off, I need to change the console. I don't like that big ugly block sitting on top of the tank.

My first choice would be some sort of low profile blank cover, and put a Dakota digital speedo on my handlebars. However, I haven't been able to find something that will work to cover the spot that the console comes off of.

If that isn't doable, I'd like to find some kind of low profile console that will work with my bike and take the HD digital speedo. I've seen there is a Harley version, but it doesn't really look like what I want.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have been wanting to do the same thing. But have not found one yet. I really like the dash on the new softail slim. I don't think the tank contour is the same on both bikes but I would love to get my hands on one to see if it could be shaped to fit on a LO.

The one on the slim is from the Heritage PC'd black. It should fit with no issues. Harley also makes a low profile that comes in chrome and runs full length of the tank.

That could be ok. But the chrome one you mentioned looks like it is only made for Softails up to 2010. Not 2011...

I talked to the dealer parts department today and they said Harley doesn't have a low profile console for the 2011s.

Asked if the console from the Blackline or the new Softail Slim would work, he didn't know. Who would?

I guess my only option is after market, but I am not having any luck finding anything online.

This sucks. I hate that big ugly block sitting on top of the tank.

It will fit the tank fine the electrical harness is not compatable from 2010 to 2011. Everything is swapped out of your existing dash into the chrome low profile dash, except the lighting above your dial- that is where the problem is.There is also the issue with the odometer reset being a push button on 2010.

Ok, that makes sense. Now the 2011's with the new wiring have been out over a year and still no options from HD? What the heck is going on over there?

If I am not mistaken I think that the console your talking about is the same one that came on the crossbone.

I can't see the console being the problem, it would be the actual speedo that goes "in" the console. The console simply houses the on/off switch and some lights... right?

Tank contour would be the only concern I would have.

If you are going with a Dakota speedo, and don't care about the lights on the "dash" then what issues could an '11 pose over a '10?
