powder coating wire wheels
I've read some people have had it done without relacing the wheels. I called a local powder coater & he said he'll do it but there is a chance that the spokes would bend due to the heat. I'm looking for opinions...

Was he spraying them assembled or unlaced? If you unlace them and pc the rims it gives a cool contrast. Some even pc the spokes but leave the nipples chrome for a different look. No way they should bend though.

Not sure if that is a good idea as the laces will be pc'd to the rim and there will be a paint seal around the seams where laces meet rims and hubs and any flexing at all would crack the paint and possibly chip or peel. maybe I am wrong as I have never seen a whole wire spoked wheel pc intact.
