Very nice choice indeed, currently doing a quick mock up to check how they fit me, dead on at the shoulders. Will post rough pics later as i am now removing the wiring and cables off the 2 piece ghetto factory bars.
I'm over on the dyna forum but I just wanted to say that one of the worst set of factory bars has to be the drag bars they are putting on the new wide glides. Put apes on mine as soon as I got it.
So I'm at work and just finally got done getting the connectors pulled apart. I have to say this was a total pita until I figured out the turn signal connector. Only fought it for an hour.
So I decided to run the wires tonight and wouldn't you know it.... I screwed up, since the carlini's are double walled and thick as hell the wire loom got hung up and tore off in the center portion of the bar. 4 hours later its still in there and I've tried everything I can think of to fish it out. I did get the switch wiring back out tho so thats a plus. All I lacked was another inch of being free and clear, but it wouldn't go that last inch. Go figure right? Oh and this would be both the skinny wire loom and the big fatty. I have good tight shrink wrap on the wiring now, just need to get the loom out. If nothing else I'll just buy another set of bars.... Its only money after all can't take it with you when your dead!
I think I'm gonna try and run some chain through the bars after work today with a few fish hooks tied in the middle. That way I might be able to hook it and get it pulled through while still being able to pull it back out. I'm gonna use the heaviest test I can manage to come up with so I hopefully don't wind up with a hook stuck in the bars too. Does this sound reasonable? It's either this or submerge the bars in acetone to "melt or dissolve" the loom.

Reason: A little update
WOOOOOOT!!! Alright now that the woot is out of the way, I got the rubberized or plastic whatever sheath out of the bars! Using a heat gun I blew the hot air in from the bottom of the bars and then from the end grip. It only took a few minutes to melt it good enough that I could blow it out with an air gun hooked up to the air compressor. I would just like to say this is a huge sigh of relief as I really didn't want to buy another set of bars.
Here is a little eye candy for how they look, I will have more pics when I finish most definitely.
And here is the little bugger that was stuck in the bars...
And this is what I worked on today
All are Iphone pics so they kinda suck, I'll use the droid when its done.
