Default Dash/Console won't tighten.

Putting things back together after installing some new bars, I tightened down the dash to the tank but it's still wobbling and definitely not tight. The screw is set correctly and tightens down without issue. I checked the wires feeding into the back as well and everything seems right and not in the way and the rubber trim is on correct Anyone got an idea what might be going on? Any little piece that i might of forgot that keeps it stable and tight to the tank?

I'm hoping this is a head smack, oh yeah type of thing that I'm just missing. Thanks.

Do a search on here.

The center bolt has been known to slip out of the groove it lies in, thus, spinning and not being able to tighten down. theres a bunch of threads on this top. Sorry I dont recall them off hand. But Im 99% certain that is the issue.

Went through the same thing yesterday. My bolt is tightening properly, I can make it as tight as I want it... but the rubber seal around the edges is not in contact with the tank. I chalk some of it up to the tank panel between the seat and console, but it seems like something more is holding it up. Are the rubber seals on the console supposed to be flush with the tank?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did a search before posting and saw the thread you mentioned. As I mentioned in my post, the screw is tightening properly but even fully tightened, the dash is still looser than it should be.

Had the same thing happen. One of the clip connectors is holding something up. I had to move the clips and wiring around a bit, then put it back on the bolt and move it slightly forward then press down lightly and pull back to seat it against the tank. Thats a horrible explanation I know, but once you get it, you'll get it.

Tried the above and still not having it set right on the tank. Blowing my mind... Any other ideas to try?
