Default ABS Upper Brake Lines Solved

This post is for anyone that changing their bars and has abs brakes. I can't begin to tell you how crazy this is. After spending several weeks trying to get an extended upper line for my 2011 flstc, finally the mystery was solved. All I heard was that no one makes one, HD wants you to buy upper and lower, on and on and on....

Anyway, you will all sleep better knowing that Drag Specialties has them. They are braided stainless and are exact fit in extended sizes. Unfortunately it doesn't match the rest of my cables which are magnum chromite, but it looks ok and fit perfect.

So if your in this boat, check out the drag fatbook and you'll find it. It is a drag cable.

Good luck...Ride On!

I hear ya, I was in the same boat
I have ordered the Burleigh Bars for my Blackline and the team there are amazing and have solved that issue for me, so at least that saved me the headache

The guys are amazing, it all started with just the bars and I was sharing with them the problem of the ABS issue and they were like we can hook you up and sell you that too, so they sold me the bars with all cables needed. So my headache is over. So once the new bars arrive I will be custom making another set of bars so I have 02 options.

HD problem is that their extended upper cable is not 01 piece one running from the ABS unit they have it with another link in between. Where as the other brands have it as one piece.

D94, have you got any pics of your new cable? I will be sharing my pics once I receive them for all to see

I forgot to mention the options they gave me just in-case it might help anyone:

Barnett Stealth with a Goodridge Stealth ABS line or if you are happy with
just replacing the Upper ABS line (from Master cylinder to ABS Unit) I can
do Magnum Black Pearl (which Matches the HD Diamond Black)

This includes all the Throttle/Idle/Clutch/ ABS front Brake
(upper in Magnum or Full in Goodridge).

Hope this helps a rainy day

Do you have a link for good instructions on the install of that brake line.

Super easy bud and this is a pretty old thread. There are now plenty of vendors who sell the upper ABS brake line in varying lengths. I just ordered one for my apes on my 2014 Fatboy Lo and used Magnum Shielding +8" over OEM for my 14" Carlinis. Just look to your shop manual for torque specs on the 2 connections and your golden. Heck, I have my manual right here..... for my bike it calls for a torque value of 17-22 ft pounds at the master cylinder and 120-144 inch pounds at the HCU.
