Default need help with tank bib

Hey guys I thought I would ask this before I start tearing into the console removal. Do you have to remove the whole console to put a new bib on or can I just loosen the console and slide the new one on? I have a 06 springer classic if it makes any difference. Thanks!

Just be careful not to pinch any wires when tightening back down and DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN the console nut!!!
