Hey quick question I have a 2000lot heritage I want to install a boom windshield mount speaker they fit only 2009went or newer has anyone put one on an older bike and why doesn't it fit thanks

They make the same system that clamps onto the handle bars that should fit, the windsheild version might not fit if the windsheild is different between the the different years. I have an 09 heritage, with the speaker pods that clamp on the handle bars, I am very happy with them.

Thanks yes I saw the handlebar mounted speakers. Thats probably what ill use I didnt know if anyone modified the windshield ones to fit o do like the way they look.
Did you do the install?

You wont hear much after 40 mph anyway so it doesn't matter. These handlebar mounted set ups are the biggest waste of money. I built a custom speaker box that mounts to the windshield. Popped in some Infinity 6 1/2's and a 100 watt amp in the saddlebag. I get stopped all the time asking where the tunes are coming from without a fairing. Box is easily built for 60 or so. Another 70 for speakers. Amps can be had dirt cheap on EBay. Plug your IPod into the amp and ride. if you have an IPod already you can do it for under 150 and have some serious tunes. I dont ride with the shield all time so its nice to be able to run open when I want or have some serious tunes by just popping on the windshield. Don't get sucked into those crappy handlebar mounted set ups.
