I don't like the look of the exhaust that came on the bike and looking to get a new set. I want to go with the look of the long shots. I have noticed both the V&H Longshots and the V&H Big Shot Longs. They both look the same to me, but the BS's are more expensive. What exactly is the difference between the two? Trying to decide. From what I've read people say the BS's produce more power and are louder....just want an input
Longshot originals are 2 separate pipes. The big shot longs are a one piece unit with the power chamber that connects them together giving better exhaust scavenging which is good. Longshots originals are 1 3/4" pipes with 2 1/4" bodies.
Big shot longs have 2 1/2 heat shields but it does not say what the diameter or the head pipes is. The bottom line is Big Shot longs are liked by most because they look better as they are "bigger" and should make better numbers with the cross over connection.

I'm glad I found this thread before opening up the same exact one.
From the description of the Power Chamber, that sounds like a 2-1-2 to me.
My bike has the Big Shots Staggered which also have the Power Chamber in them. But I love the look of the Longshots, and was going to go with them. Now I wonder if I should just go with the Big Shots Long instead, since the Power Chamber too, and so I wouldn't need any real adjustment on my carb.
That was my main question was if I'd really see any huge problems with getting either of those longer pipes and not rejetting my carb at all.
The way I looked at it was that the Longshots Original have about the same internal volume as my Big Shots Staggered, so it should equal out in the end? Or maybe I don't know as much as I thought.
And shoot, I want to quiet my bike down a bit, so maybe the Longshots Originals with Quiet Baffles maybe the way to go...
Either way, BSL or LSO, they both look hot!
*sigh* decisions decisions...
