I currently have Rush slip-ons on my Heritage Softail. I am planning to one day put hard bags on my bike which requires the exhaust being below the rear axle. I am entertaining the idea of getting D&D FatCats in the next couple of days, but are there better options out there? For those that have the FatCat, how is the performance and sound? Was it a big gain? To be honest, I'm not terribly unhappy with my Rush, PCV, and stage 1 air cleaner - will the FatCat be a noticable change in performance?
If you like the rush slip-ons, have you considered a full system?
JP cycles currently has a deal going on with them. Full system that retails at $680 for $350 and free shipping. Based off the pictures on their site, it looks like it comes in under the axle. Not sure if you want chrome or black, but I think they have both.
I guess I am more or less looking for some input on the D&D FatCat from a seat of the pants perspective. I really don't know much about them, am not finding a whole lot on the web, and don't know anyone that has or is currently running them.
Slip ons,are basically going to be the same from a performance stand point. If you want more oompffff, ditch the stock head pipe and go with a 2 into 1 pipe.
I saw a thread the other day pitting a fat cat vs a propipe on same motor. The fat cat took the peak numbers crown but the propipe had 15 more lbs/tq between 2500-3500 iirc.
There is a thread here somewhere. Maybe try the search. The dyno sheet is also posted.
