Default HELP - trying to install progressive 422's

Hey guys need some help. I cannot for the life of me loosen the rear bolts on my stock shocks. I'm removing my stock shocks and replacing with progressive 422's. I haven't got to far yet. haha. Any tricks or tools to remove the rear bolts attaching the rear shock to fork. Thanks

Bike on lift, strapped down. Put box end wrench on bolt, and whack the wrench with a 3 lb engineers hammer. A few sharp whacks should do it. You could also heat them a bit with a soldering iron to help loosen the lock tite. They are a huge PITA!

Thanks guys, PITA is right. I wasn't sure about heating it up with the wiring harness so close on the right side. There is no way I have enough space for a hand impact driver.

Yep, box end wrench and whack it with a big hammer. You'll hear it break lose.

Just did mine on my train and yes use a hammer to knock the rear bolts loose they come factory with locktite and it is a little tough to move them i know how close the wiring harness is on the right side and would not use heat unless you got everything clear. I had my brother hold the bike on the jack and I used hammer. Be sure you remove the front bolts first or the shock will spin when you are loosening them.

Gotta agree, there isn't enough room to get much more than a box end wrench on them...as the others have already said, a little 3 pound hammer and they'll pop after a couple good hits.

I used a 2lb hammer first and nothing, then pulled out the 5lb hammer and those bastards came loose pretty easily..

I used my foot and I think I even used the weight of the bike by lowering the lift. It was a bitch.
