Default a different oil question.

i had an old guy moment here. i got oil and filter for an oil change about a month ago, and had some time today to do it. bought the valvoline for motorcycles and after i put the 3 quarts in and started and checked for leaks, shut it down. started to clean up and noticed i had 2 20-50 quarts and 1 10-40. they had them on the same shelf. i know, its partly my fault for not checking each one, but my main question is, will it hurt to mix the 2. i was going to run it and keep an eye on the temperature. thanks in advance.

Same brand same kind, (dyno vs syn). I wouldn't worry about it.

If two of them are reg dyno oil and 1 syn, IMO probably still think its ok but maybe change sooner.

I just looked U average weather and it seems U guys are close to our temps here in IND, maybe a little colder. so I, IMO think U'll be OK..

Bottom line is if Ur gonna lay in bed at night worring bout it.. then just change it out after 1K or 2K .

You should now be running 16.6-46.6 . Close enough for me.

I'd run it and not worry about it. But as 49 said, if your going to lay awake at night, just change it.

No biggie
He may have put the 10w-40 in the primary. They seem to operate better sooner with that and the clutch. ?
Maybe

Oops. Misread the question. No biggie on mixing the oils. It will be slightly thinner than 20w-50. You might get a bit better mileage but your not doing it any harm.

As long as the temps in your area stay below or around 70 and you don't make a habit of sitting at lights cooking the stuff it should be fine.
Once the temps get up much higher than that or the traffic forces you to start idling for longer periods of time, change it for a high grade synthetic.
Changing it now is probably a waste of money, but later when the temps start climbing it will make you feel better and a good synthetic will help cool things down a little better/faster.

Don't see the harm in it. It will probably be time to change it before the really hot weather arrives up there anyway.

Default oil

Run it until the weather gets hot and then change it
