Default changed out tank now it wont idle????

Does any one know if the computer has to relearn or if a fuelpak has to be reset if your battery is dis connected? I changed my tins (swapped out the fuel pump) and now she wont idle. I can ride it but it pops through the intake alot also. It has always ran great before I touched it. 09 fatboy. Thanks, Mike

Ive pulled the battery and had the ecu unplugged and pulled my pump a few times and never had this happen. Look it over. Maybe you left off a wire somewhere. No exp with fuel pack.

I have a fuelpak in my 09 Fatboy.... I've unplugged the battery for short times, like a few hours, with no issues. Not sure how long you had it disconnected.

So, you replaced the fuel pump, too? I wonder if thats the issue, not putting the right pressure in, or a leaky gas tank not keeping the pressure. Was the tank pressure tested?

Check the settings to see if they have reverted back to default. There is no on-board battery as far as I can tell and I was under the impression that when you program the FP, it essentially stays that way. In other words, you don't need power to maintain the programming. I'm going to guess it's something else.

I don't have experience with the fuel pack, however with the T-Max when the battery is disconnected the ignition must be cycled on-off three times at 30 second intervals. It re-calibrates the throttle position sensor. Check the fuel pack instructions.
Cheers!

The ECM and Fuel Pack memory's are not lost when the battery is disconnected. It is possible that you have caused a pin hole in one of the fuel lines within the tank. This is common and produces a rough or no idle.

Sorry I haven't read or seen where the pin whole in the gas line caused missing UNTIL a certain amount of fuel is use after filling,
Key word it after filling.....
I've read in here for Yrs and I myself have had the pinhole in the gas line inside the tank, I don't ever remember it causing a rough idle issue all the time. Matter of fact mine Idled fine in the first 100 mile after fillling the tank full, it just wont accelerate under load after a certain amount of fuel was used.

ON mine and all the others I've read about it does cause a miss anywhere between 50 to 125 miles into a tank of gas after filling it up..

Mine started missing after 90-100 miles after filling up when U got on her, like clock work. After 110 miles Plus she was hard to keep running at all, I had to keep giving her the gas to keep it running.

Thanks for all of the replies. I rode about 80 miles yesterday and it seems to idle pretty good now. The only problems at this point are its hard to start if it sits for a few hours (pops through the intake) and it seems to have lost some power. I do have more de cell pop now also. I thought I was carefull with the fuel lines in the tank but you never know. I would think a dirty fuel filter would act different?? Thanks, Mike
