I need some help finding a top motor mount for my 2010 Heritage 96 twin cam w/ fuel injection! After a day of trying to get some mods done on the bike and having problem after problem I am burned out.
I wanted to replace the cowbell horn as I just don't like it covering the motor the way it does. I bought a horn relocation kit #69180-02a.
Got it mounted up nice but the old motor mount has the horn mount tab hanging down and it looks like crap! I can take it off and cut the tab off but I would rather just swap it out. I can only seem to find the Roland Sands one and it is nice but I don't need a $200 engine mount that is hidden under the fuel tank.
Can anyone recommend a nice motor mount that doesn't have the horn tab or holes for a coil mount? I don't care if it is chrome or zinc as I could always have the zinc one powder coated. I just can't seem to find one that fits my bike......
I found that one but it has the horn tab on the front that I'm trying to eliminate. I'm looking for something like number 26040 or 26052 on this page http://motoscycle.com/store/page16.html that will fit a 2010 96" twin cam. I'm not sure if the 88" twin cam is the same bolt pattern.
I did a quick check of BKriders (thanks for that name, I never heard of them) but they all seem to have the tab on them also.
I just ended up removing the stock one and cutting off the horn tab and just buffing it and it came out nice. You can't really see it under the fuel tank on the Heritage anyway. Wasn't about to spend $200 on a RSD one!
Happy Thanksgiving ! Did you have to remove or lift Gas Tank ? I haven't really looked under there yet - just looked at the parts breakout in the 2008 HD Parts Catalogue
Any challenges getting the mount removed and put back on ?
