Use what ever U like, I use simple green cut with water, let then soak a couple, brush then off and rinse and wipe dry, then wax two times a yr.

This is also a real good time to check for any loose spokes....
$15 for that brush, I bet $11 was for the HD logo

Option 1. Get a piece of cloth rope about 2' long. Soak middle 6" in chrome or metal polish. Wrap rope around spoke one time. Pull rope back and forth on spoke while moving up and down the spoke. Repeat 39 or 49 or 79 more times depending upon your application. Get another piece of cloth rope 2' long. Repeat previous instructions without soaking in polish.

Option 2. Pay a kid to do it while you drink beer and make sure he does it right. Limit yourself on beer if possible... it could be a long day.

I like the beer/kid idea. Good call haha.

I use one of those small wheel brushes for cars from WalMart, a toothbrush, soap and water. I put the bike on a lift which really helps. Bottom line is that it is a total pain in the ***. I'm re-thinking the beer/kid thing.

I used 0000 steel wool on mine. I'll try some of these other ideas next time.

Ditto, jacking up the bike and using s-100 saves a lot of time. I also use a small brush with a round 1" head similar to shaving brush. if you want to go all out get the Blaster Sidekick, blows warm air and works awesome. I love the look but I dont miss cleaning spokes

The spokes aren't what gives me trouble, it's getting to the hub that's a real PITA. It always makes me think back to the bicycle days when you had that little leather strap that fit loosely around the hub to keep it clean. lol

I'm going to have to find me one of those kids so I can drink and only supervise!

Seems to me that would scratch and ruin your chrome. I've heard of people doing this to rusted, pitted chrome that's already ruined. But I would never take steel wool (or any abrasive) to chrome.

The spokes and rims are a PITA, but are fairly easy access. What about the inner hubs? How are you guys getting to the inner hubs for cleaning?

Hubs ugh!!! That rear hub is a bear! Any ideas would help. I guess it's a matter of getting the cloth strips in there to pull back and forth.
