I did some searching but couldn't find how to change around the wiring for having the driving lights on a heritage come on with the high beams. Link to a thread or some instructions?
Harely has a new wiring harness that will let you do that. It's called Independant Lamp control # the part # is 69200442, cost is $ 33.95 here in Canada.
I was hoping to just switch the trigger or power wire so it would be on with hi beams and off with lows, or maybe just on all the time. I'm not sure where to look for the wires though since I dont have the manual yet.
Pull your light, inside the bucket is a 3-wire system with black being ground. Auxillary lights pick up power from the connector inside the bucket. If you're still unsure this is where a VOM comes in handy.

Reason: typo
Crawford769 was good enuff to post a part number for an adapter to toggle between low/high beams. Googling the part # plus pdf instructions you should get this:
Editing this post. I dont see where it toggles from the low to high beam. High beam is white and low yellow. According to that schematic its toggling between low and running lights, maybe I'm missing something.
Look at it later when I get back.

That adapter HD sells does not use the high beam circuit when it toggles power to the auxiallary lights when high bean is activated, it picks up power elsewhere. That in itself tells me HD does not reccomend running auxiallary lights off that high beam circuit.
Another point would be how much amperage does the high beam use and add the amperage of the auxillary lights. Do it HD's schematics way and save a few bux by buyin the material yourself, stay away from using the high beam circuit is my thoughts now that I took a look see..

Reason: typo city this mornin...argh
Relay sounds interesting...solid state and weatherproof, like to know what you find for that application. When I installed my auxillary lights my initial plan was to run another circuit up to the bucket. I imagine next time I slide the tank back or remove it thats what I'll do, isolated circuit seperate from the lighting altogether. I too like the idea off being able to switch it on/off regardless high or low beam. Let us know what ya end up doin there.
