Default Lyndall Z Plus Pads Comments

I've gotten right at about 900 miles on my Lyndall Z Plus pads. I went easy the first hundred miles with no hard braking as I recall was recommended. Driving conditions have been mostly city.

Pros: They are smooth, no noise, screeching, squealing etc (wouldn't expect so out of new pads) but thought it worth mentioning. They do feel noticeably better than my stock ones which I only had 1,300 miles on, but they screeched at times and felt hard, I guess is one to explain the OEM feel.

Cons: Disappointment - I went with Z Plus pads because I read everywhere they were reduced dust. I know reduced means just that, and doesn't mean there will be done. Maybe I got a set that was made on a Monday or something, but come rub your finger over my wheel or look at the black dust bombs dropped on my white wall. They seem to be getting dustier the more miles I put on them.

What has been your experience with Lyndall Z Plus or other "reduced dust" pads as far as dust? Are the Lyndall Golds better, or is there another reduced dust brand?

Or am I being over critical and expecting to much?

I have no issue with the actual performance of the Lyndalls, however, I'm not even remotely satisfied with their advertised "reduced dust" capability or their lack of.

This is after approximately 100 miles since I last cleaned a few days ago.

I went with the Lyndall Z Plus pads and to be honest, I don't see where they are much of an improvement over the stock pads. Mine must have also been make on a Monday as I still get a lot of brake dust on my rims. Not sure what I will try next but it's prob won't be Lyndall Z Plus pads.

I just started using them too and the rear set is leaving little dust bombs on my white wall...right after I just went a couple rounds with Bleche Wite to get all the shop's black finger prints off. I hope it's just a break-in thing and not for the full life of the pads.

Not sure why I didn't think to call them, but I'll have to do that tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

Yea, I'm not feeling them either. I'm looking for something too, I don't care if I throw these out and eat'em, but these are sucking right now. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like a trend developing. If these don't improve soon for me, they'll be short lived if I can find something to replace them with. Thanks for the comments.

Not at all impressed either. I expect some dust, like you said, it's the nature of the beast. But I really don't remember it being heavy black dust with the OEM pads.

There is no way for a brake pad to leave no dust. These are quote unquote dustless which means what it means. As far as I am concerned, if you ride your bike on a regular basis your bads are going to leave dust. I prefer them as they also last far longer than most other pads I have tried.

Wonder if the changed the formula on them. I've got some that I've had for several years. No dust issues at all. They have 18k miles on them now. They seem to be lasting way longer then the stock pads and don't cost much more, if any. Lyndall is having a March blow out sale. All their rotors are only $350! Such a deal....

As I have stated, I know there will be dust, I never expected there wouldn't be. I just didn't expect it to be so much or as much and IMHO, more than the stockers
