Default springer rockers

when adjustingthe rocker swing25/35inch pounds on the springer rockers (late model) the service manual says to turn the rigid pivot bolt and rocker. My question is where do you put the torque wrench? With the bearing retainer covering thehead of the pivot bolt the only other placeto put the torque wrenchwould be the hex nut.Is that the place to take the rocker swing reading?(inch pounds) Or am I missing something.thanks

You read it correctly...

You will need adapters to get your wrench to adapt to theHex wrench....

Bearing retainer......

Torque to 12-15 in/lbs, then torque the retainer nut (While holding the retainer stationary).....

With the Nut torque, it will increase the retainer torque to close to spec.....

If you do it the way the book states, you will be above the drag, and rockers won't move freely....
