I just finished making a complete transformation of my '03 FLSTF to a bagger, but I have an issue with my pipe choice. I have the samson true duals, but I went with the new 4" mufflers. Now the pipes are touching the extended bags I installed on the cyclevisions brackets.
Has anyone else ran the 4" mufflers on the extended hard bags with no clearance issues? I love the larger diameter and performance and sound was great, but it is clearly an issue if it touches my bags (melting!). Otherwise, I guess I have to switch to the smaller diameter mufflers.
After speaking with the folks at Samson, it doesn't appear that I can make the 4" mufflers work with my setup without compromising my saddlebag brackets, etc.
So I have decided to switch to a smaller diameter muffler.
If anyone is interested, I am listing the 4" high perfomance mufflers for sale in the classified section of the forum.
