Like a couple others on the board I got a hold of John at Hardtail Choppers, he was a great guy to talk to and sent me a great set of bars. I had the local HD shop install them about 2 months ago and relocate the signals. Here's the result, I'm pretty happy with the ride, I didn't hate the original bars but like this feel much better.
These are 14" bars, I know he makes up to 16". I had to get 5 1/2 " over cables, put brand new on they came from Drag Specialties. The signals needed the HD relocation kit which is essentially the bracket on the forks. Appleton HD did all the work for me. I'd have gone 16" but I'm short 5'6" and didn't want to chance it being too high. The new solo seat's on the way, back ordered til 4/16 but I think that'll add to it.
i had the hardtail choppers 16" dukes on my blackline and the bars moved around in the top tree no matter how tight i made them. the d shaped inserts were not machined properly. i called them and the only solution was to take em off, send em back, and order the highball 16 from australian burleigh bars. did they correct the problem? the whole ordeal was a huge pain in the *** i had to splice the wiring twice, and i have heard of others having the same problem and either riding like that (dangerous and stupid) or pulling them back and tightening them (they would still move forward, also stupid). did they fix this?
