Crossbones Seat Question
#11
That was the first change I did on my old cross bones and went with the HD less padded. Here is a picture of the seat on:
I had no issues what so over on long rides, and the reason of going lower was the same reason you are feeling now.
Hope that helps, again you do have many options for seats out there but I never took that route as I wanted to keep the Crossbones signature still there

I can't remember, but I do remember it was the first option available by HD in their parts catalog. The padding was very minimal but the comfort was far better then the stock thick padded version. The stock padded one was actually sold to my friend who installed it on his Night train and he loved the comfort.

The 1925/1940 seat puts you lower than stock and to go even lower, use 2" springs. I didn't know there were 1" springs, however that doesn't make much sense to me. If you're close to 200lbs you will be bottoming out the 2" springs on bumps, can't imagine 1" is rideable. I have my 1925/1940 seat and 2 sets of springs for sale right now: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...seat-pans.html

Looks like the best first step would be to try for the 1925/40 seat and see if that lowers me enough
