Hey guys. I am short, and looking to get a new seat for my '11 Crossbones. I love the springer seat for comfort, but it's just a bit high, and I feel like I'm on top of the bike, not in it.
I'm looking for a seat that is significantly closer to the frame. I love the springer seat idea, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a springer seat that I get.
I want a solo that is comfortable, but still looks nice on the crossbones.
Any input would be appreciated, and pics would be even better.
You may want to Lower the Springs a bit to say 1" Springs .. if your lookin at lowering yourself on the bike .. I believe that taken the entire seat away from the Machine is losing the Signature of the X-Bones in itself .. Just my 2 cents. ..... Ride Solid !
You can go with 2inch springs, will lower you an inch. If you want to save another inch or 2 go with the 1925 seat and the 2inch springs. If your up over 200lbs you might get some bottoming out in the springs. I did the 2inch springs on the stock seat before I put the hearlands kit on, and it make a big difference, and no bottoming out. I'm 5'8 and about 190 with gear on.
HD 1925 original solo seat. Same basic seat pan without all the excess padding. You will sit lower and more comfortably. With stock seat I could ride for about an hour before needing a break. With original solo I can easily ride a full tank and get right bsck on after refueling. Retaina old school look and adds comfort. That's a win win.
