Default Looking at an 08 Night Train today

It's got about 5k on it. Anything specific to look for or at? Known problem areas or issues if any?

Any tips are appreciated and thanks in advance.

Can't be of much help on the topic, but hands down the nicest bike I think they have made in quite awhile.

Good luck and hopefully it goes well for you today!

Buying a Night Train depends on what you like about them. Some like to chrome them out, which is a crime in my opinion. Some like the all black look and seek to turn every bit of chrome black. If youw a black guy, I would say look for one that has the inverted black front end Harley offered as an option. They look great and perform better. If your looking for chrome, simply find one that has the msot chrome work done so you arent spending the money afterwards.

Thanks for the replies. Regarding the chrome vs. black, I prefer a combination, as in mostly black with chrome highlights however I'm not worried about the cosmetics. I was curious if there are any known issues/defects with the model and year. I know the Moco doesn't always acknowledge problems but if there is, they usually become apparent and are addressed on this boards and/or others like it.

Thanks again!

Nothing you wont find with any other Harley of that year or others.

Cool. I currently have an 06 Street Bob and there were/are a few commonly known issues with the charging system and what not, which is why I was asking.

Thanks!

When I bought mine it had a good mix of chrome with the black. I blacked mine out because that's the look I wanted. It definitely looked great with the chrome also. Here's what mine looked like when I bought it. Most should look like this from the factory.

I bought a used '08 NT a year ago. I replaced the compensator with the SE part, didn't "need" it but it got rid of a clunk sound when I started it. Other than that just routine maintenance.

You will be happy to know the 08 train has a 3 phase stator so no worry's with the charging unit and I think its 32 amp.
