The correct bolts are one-time use so reusing them is asking for trouble.
My g/f and I both have the cover (came with the bikes we bought used) and they look great. You could chrome the sprocket but that will mean at least some downtime for your ride unless you have a spare. Cover is an hour's job tops.

Nothing against the covers, they do look good. It's all in what one wants.
