The only reason I don't do this to my bike is, okay reasons, are : skill, vision, patience, *****, money and know how. But if it wasn't for just those I would seriously do it.
damn that is a badass project
Skill- comes with practice.
Vision- is easy. Just look at other alike bikes and take notes/pictures.
Patience- is the hardest to come by.
*****- just say F it and start taking ***** apart.
Money- the main reason I try to do as much of my own work as possible.
Know how- same as skill. Buy the owner's manual!
Shyne- looks nice but my only question is why do the rotor and pulley in yellow? They now hide all those beautiful black powdered spokes.
Good question I had my pully cover painted red before to match the wheels. Guess I just thought Id do the same thing. Doesnt matter to much because boxes and new fender cover it completely. Black would of worked out too just so much going on sometimes sh@t goes sideways.

I have friends who are mechanics and fabricators with that said Im in sales. This is my first Harley but one of my goals this year I wanted to be able to take my bike apart down to the frame and build it better than it was before I took it apart. My patience has worn thin but it will be something I can tell my kids that I built a pretty cool sled. Grab a manual and take it apart thats all I did.

You got it all covered in there. Best thing I ever did was buy the manual.
Turned out pretty nice. Powder coated entire wheel black sanded the lip down for some candy on hoops. I want to thank ride wright wheels for all their help today. Danielle is great there. When I showed up they stopped everything to put my tires on, rotors, bearings all of that. I hear alot of talk about them just wanted to say my experience has been first class with them.
I'll second that on Ride Wright Shyne. Sam and Danielle have been good to me over the years.
Scooter is coming out sick. Will really be a head turner and fun to ride.good job so far.
Dang 06 you hit it on the head. Go for it.
Aahhhh, "San Diego." Drink it in. It always goes down smooth. San Diego, it means: "Yellow-painted pulley cover."
Lmao. Thanks for the kind words guys. Little sad this morning because powder didnt get all my brackets and stuff I needed done to get electrical back up and running. Work has haulted for another weekend.
My wife keeps asking me do all painters and mechanics never get stuff done on time....my reply was only the good ones they are an artsy type of people.
