Hey guys,
With the Lo I noticed that I am scraping everywhere! I just installed the fatcat and it has scrapes all down the muffler tube and I am notorious with my friends for the floorboard scrape as well. Granted, it might be riding style or corner approach but I dont feel as if I push it all the time that I scrape. I will be riding with the club same turns same speed and I am the one scraping. COULD this be an issue of my rear shocks not being adjusted correctly? IE. they are set on full soft and the bike is just too bouncy? I weigh about 190 and I do ride 2up sometimes. Is it just time to break down and get a shotgun shock and reincors or what? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
I have a FB and have noticed the same. I am running a fat cat and shotgun on mine and to be honest I think I scrap more now than before, doesn't matter single or two up (two up about 30-40 percent of time). I did however go to the heritage "can" on the fat cat to look more balanced with the RK custom bags. I also tend to run on the softer side since our roads suck. But it is really nice to be able to stiffin up the shock when I am out in the country cruising the through the twisties. I have thought about going to a different exhaust to get more clearance but can not justify the cost. I believe the LO is lower from the factory??? so that may be making it worse for you as well. I have learned to just ride with in the bikes ability. Once I hear the fatcat start to scrap time to ease up. I do wonder if anyone has ever "washed out" from draging the fat cat. I have found that having a bigger/stronger motor than the guys I ride with that I can catch up to all my buddies on baggers on the straight a ways and not so sharp corners. not to much content here just a lot of diarrhea of the keyboard. sorry.
- remove reflectors
- Change riding style. You lean more, bike leans less.
- Maxima 15w fork oil
- Adjust shocks
- Half moon floor boards (the stock floor boards scrape in the rear corner area)
- Move floor boards forward 1 1/4" https://www.hdforums.com/forum/7284069-post440.html
- Keep foot on outside of floor board. When it starts to scrape, adjust or dig into the turn more... lol
I have the same shocks as the fb low and deluxe. Stock fb shocks do help some also.
Try leaning more. You might be surprised at how much you can straighten out the bike with a little lean. Maybe you are subconsciously sitting up straight or leaning the wrong way.

Mike, i have a lo also and i scrap all the time. I am pretty sure it is due to the lo being lowered 1in from the factory. For me it is only my boot or board no scraps on the fat cat yet and i hit some tight and short S corners. I am thinking of raising my boards to help out
