anyone here put a windshield on a blackline? if you have installed one i would like to hear about it and if possible see pics. i will be test fitting a used one today off a different bike and if it works out i will post pics, but i am not holding my breath as it is off a vrod.
I have the smaller one - compact 16" smoked (Pn 57400022). It can be installed and removed very quickly - literally seconds. Could be stolen equally fast. As far as looks go, it looks as good as a windshield is going to look. I thought it would be hideous based on the pics in the Harley catalog - but blends right into the bike in real life. The light smoke tint gives it a more hidden look in the daylight. I use it for open road riding. It effectively shields against road flak and does a good job deflecting most of the wind up and over. It is well built; but, expensive for what it is. I'll post a pic soon.
thanks gnormous, pics would be awesome if you get a chance.
i looked at that one today and if i remember correctly it was expensive, did see a catalog with a memphis shade similar to that one for a hundred or so less, but i dindnt get to see it on a bike.
thanks for the pics. that doesnt look bad at all (wasnt sure about a windshield for a blackline) how is the ride at speed? at what speed do you find buffeting (if at all)

It seems the air flow around it is stable at all speeds (probably haven't tested much over 90mph). Mostly Nebraska and South Dakota two lane; but some interstate as well. I was riding into a pretty stiff head wind the other day - I mounted it about two inches higher on the forks and it helped direct more of the wind over my head.
I always liked the Windvest windshields. They probably don't have a mount for it yet.
Agreed - Windvest has a nice setup. Might be worth a call to see if they are working on a Blackline config. By the way I really dig those pipes on your bike- look right at home on the Blackline.
