Default Changed map ... am I okay?

I've got a 2004 Heritage ... stock ECU, (I think) BSL's, and SE intake with K&N filter. PCIII with correct map. I posted earlier about RPM's, shifting, and speed. I just felt too lean starting at 2750 rpm's ... I'd hit 22 mph in 1st and things get loud and vibrate ... same thing in 2nd gear at about 32 mph.

For the hell of it ... I just changed my map starting at 2750 rpm's and added 3 points to each % of throttle ...starting at 20% of course, not zero. same at 3000 rpm and then added 2 points at 3250 across the board.

Test drive ... WOW .... I can go past 25 mph in first, past 35 in second and so on ... WAY better through the power band. Idles fine ... pops on decel after getting the rpm's up and shutting it down, but not bad at all.

Think I'm okay without going to the dyno and spending hundreds of $$???

At worst am I just going to see worse gas mileage? What do you think?

Take it and get it tuned. Why guess? You started out by saying you had the correct map. Then you guessed and changed it. So what now? Do you still have the correct map? Do you have the wrong map? You "think" it's running better? The answer is get it tuned the right way and stop guessing.

I would think you should be ok. Is it perfect? I doubt it, but I also doubt carbed guys get their bike dynoed everytime they change a jet.
If it runs better and you only added a little fuel it should be fairly harmless.
