Default Help! Speedometer wont work

Hello all. Brand new to the forum and forums in general, but I check them all of the time. I have a 1993 FXSTC and the speedometer doesnt work. I replaced the sensor, the cable and finally got an OEM speedo and still nothing. I had it at a shop and they said all that I needed was the new speedometer and still nothing. Light comes on, all is plugged and tightened but nothing. Any advice would be amazing!!

It is most likely the tab on the drive unit. They have been known to snap. It happened on my '91 twice.

Yeah. There should be a small tab on the backside of it. If the tab is still there and it turns with the wheel then I would say that the gears inside the unit are stripped out.
You have this style unit on the front wheel right?

That should work just fine. Did you verify that is the problem or you just swapping parts?

Have to thank you guys. This is why I like to do the work myself. I have been so busy I let a shop work on it and they missed the pin. It was bent but I was able to get it in and for now I have a speedo!! Thanks a million guys!
