Default ABS Hose Help!

From my previous thread... I'm installing a set of 16" apes on a friends 2012 fat boy lo.

We attempted the swap today, I have no idea why Harley would quote so long to do this. Anyone that pays a shop that much labor for swapping bars is crazy!

Everything was smooth sailing until we got to extending the brake hose.

The shop sold him an extended "upper brake line" , sounded right... Part # 41800116A, included a longer hose (PART A) for the following set-up :

His bike has a totally different set-up though, the hose runs directly from the ABS module to the master cylinder. It doesn't have that same manifold to accept the threaded end of the supplied hose.

He's set-up is like the following:

My understanding is that he should of got an extended hose (Part #14) , he called the dealer and they had no idea what was going on. Apparently that particular hose doesn't come in a longer length. The only way they say it'll work is to use the hose they gave him, along with all the new lower hoses, manifold, etc, to change it to the first images set-up. All of which are on back-order apparently.

I think that's BS, and makes no sense to me. How is everyone else getting around this situation? We're gonna go to some local hydraulic shops monday that can build custom brake lines and try to get a copy made up, just 12" longer... Anyone see an issue with this?

I spent a lot of time, back in the day, building hydraulic lines for dump trucks, heavy duty plows, sand trucks, etc. I never built a line this small. But I can confidently say that if any hydraulic shop has the right equipment (press, dies, hose, hose ends, etc), a halfway decent brain operating the equipment, and know their **** about different fluids / pressures, etc, they can do this right. Make sure to take the old line along for reference, and ask if they can do the same thing 12" longer.
