Default Need a sanity check for a problem I'm having

Okay, so:

Bike: 2010 FatBoy Lo

Mods to affected areas: RaceTech Gold Valve Emulators, Powdercoating

Problem: Odd squeak in the front end while going over any bumps

Attempted Solutions:
1) Stripped front end away until it was just the forks, wheel, rotor, brake.. took it for a ride, obnoxious squeak was still there.

2) Disassembled front end entirely, checked all parts including inner fork tubes (springs, RaceTech's, brakes, pinch bolts).. reassembled everything, took it for a ride, squeak was still there.

Scientific Method:

New theory: Wheel bearings went bad?
Research: While riding home from a friends house a few days ago, a buddy of mine and I came around a corner, and both of us hit the same pothole and almost flew off our bikes. I checked the tire and the wheel for any signs that it may have bent, but everything was fine. There's no wobble anywhere from 0-75mph.. everything is feeling straight and true.

So.. would a bad bearing cause it to make a rather obnoxious squeak every time I hit even the smallest of bumps? That's the only thing left I can think of that I haven't checked yet, and it seems the most logical solution

Yes, a bad bearing would usually squeak, however it would squeak most of the time.

Did ya put a straight-edge on the tubes? Or roll them on a known flat surface? What about simple crap, like riser bushings and such.

My first thought was the riser bushings as well. And the better polyurethane ones will squeak more then the cheap rubber ones.

yeah i hadn't considered the riser bushings..those are easy to check out.. though as i'm riding slowly with my head hanging out over the handlebars to try to stick my ear down there the sound seems like it's coming from down lower near the wheel.. but it's still worth it to check it out

Not to be a smart *** but maybe when you go over a bump it's your hearing aid squeaking
Meaning its all in your head

Sorry, not to hijack this thread but when you powder coat the front fork. Do they have to be complete disassemble? (ex: removing spring and fluid)

Yes they do. Just do spray on Plasti dip. No prep. Dont like it peel it off.
