BCM Body Control Module Problems 2012 Softail?
I turned into a parking lot, hit the kill switch and nothing happened..the bike kept running. I turn off the ignition and the bike eventually stalled after 10 seconds or so.
I checked and cleared a couple of lost comm BCM codes and now everything seems to be working fine.
I guess I'll have to see how it goes.
Codes were..
U0001 CAN Buss error
U0140 Lost comm BCM
U0141 Lost comm LHCM (left hand control module)
U0142 Lost comm RHCM (right hand control module)
U0156 Lost comm to speedo.
One thing I did notice was that after all those lights lite up (my prior post) that the whole speedo went dark.
The bike still ran fine but I had no directionals (hand controls) and no speedo.
Another thing I noticed was the both trip meters reset to zero but the clock held its time, also the fuel gauge still worked
I'll spend some time on the bike tomorrow and post what I find.

Did you find a solution for your issues?
I have a 2016 FLSS (Softail Slim S) with 24k miles now (bought new in 2016) and started having the same issues a few months back. I took my bike to one dealer that had it for over 1 month and finally claimed it was fixed. I picked it up from the dealer and drove 22 miles, and it had the same issue. I paid 500+ and they didnt fix it, I decided to take it to another dealer and they fixed it in 2 weeks.
They replaced BCM, ECM, ABS sensor, and it seemed to fix it for 1100 miles and now as of yesterday, same problems.
NOTE: with the ignition on, all lights in speedo illuminate, WONT start, WONT turn OFF (I have to remove main fuse), I get 'BUSSerr' in the LCD display, headlights/AUX/tail work, turn indicators DO NOT work, rear break light works with foot pedal but DO NOT with front break leaver. With the bike OFF, there is a clicking sound (like relay) in the ABS unit under front forks --> im sure that is one problem that drains the battery as I have replaced 4 since I bought the bike. (I do use a battery tender.)
I will be taking it to the dealer next week and hopefully have an update / solution.

Best, niv
Funny you mention voltage regulator, yesterday I took the voltage regulator off to clean it up and I found oil in all the connectors that are attached to the voltage regulator bracket. I guess the last time the dealer did the oil change, they let oil pour all over and did not clean it up. I will look into testing the voltage regulator today.
