I put a Power Commander V on my 2012 Heritage Softail Classic along with a Arlen Ness Big Sucker air filter. They set the PCV for me at the dealer based on my settings. I also have a set of Rush slip ons with 1.75" baffles. No other changes to the bike.
Today I noticed the bottom of my rear pipe is blued.
Any advice on what steps I need to take and will the bluing come off?
Can't really help you on the cause of the bluing, but to help remove it there is a product called "blue job". It works fantastic. It's a white powder that you apply with a damp applicators or micro fiber cloth and rub liberally. Take care not to scratch the chrome, but it really takes the blue or yellowish off like magic. Good luck.
I would get the dealer to shoot the cylinders with an infared thermometer.
Should'nt be getting hot enough to blue that pipe. Happen to know what your oil temp is after a ride?

A picture is worth a thousand words. How long ago was this work performed? Is the headpipe also blue? I would think that if it is running hot enough to blue the muffler then you should have already melted down a piston.
The blued area is not that large. Its a small area at the bottom of the slipon where the muffler connects to the pipe. I tried to take a pic, but at night its hard to take a good pic.
