Some parts came in.......installation clarification....
Hello all,
Parts are starting to arrive......have a couple of quick questions.....
On the front and rear fender rails (05 Deluxe), just apply some silicone to the tabs?
Also, is a bike lift/jack mandatory for a Shotgun shock install? Or will creativity and basic jack stands suffice? Can purchase one if need be. Shotgun arrives Friday.
Slippie I only put silicone on the rear inside mounting point for the rear fender rail. The front is pretty solid when bolted up so I didn't do anything with the front tab. Be sure to check your clearance on the front one. It's a close fit, but won't be an issue if you have it pulled up tight.
It would really help to have a lift but I'm sure with some engineering you could figure out a way to get the bike on jack stands or something. It's nice to have a regular floor jack to lift the rear wheel during the install.
