08 fatboy passenger floorboard help

08 fatboy passenger floorboard help
OK so need to mount passenger floorboards. I have V&H big shots and want chrome mounts. My HD parts guy says that only HD 50399-07a will work.
Not only is it black only; but when I go to put them on the right side bolt won't work as my stock exhaust is gone, making the partially threaded bolt too long. Does anyone know of a chrome mount that will work HD or otherwise?

I'm assuming that your talking about the extensions and mount that the floorboards or pegs mount too. I have the Chrome and rubber "mini-floorboards" with V&H Big Shots and those mounts (stock) are black. I've looked thru the catalog for chrome extensions and didn't see anything except for item 51039-05 "Passenger Footpeg Supports-Chrome" on page 266. These would work for my situation, just not worth $128 IMO. Not sure if that helps, but thought I would give it a try and help out a fellow Kansan...

I have chrome passenger mounts on my '07 FatBoy. When I had my Samsons on it, I just went to the local hardware store and got a grade 8 bolt of the appropriate length to mount it with. I believe they are Custom Chrome mounts. They look identical to the black factory ones, just chrome.
