I cut my Fatboy HD detachable down so I can look over it (have done the same on every shield ever on both my and my g/f's bikes). Took my first real ride after the cut last weekend and noticed some significant wind. A bit of experimentation and I discovered it's coming up and around the sides of the fuel tank. Not sure what, if anything, I can do about that.

I noticed that too, the other night. It's been very windy here.
Tucked the knees a little closer to the tank and it stopped.
Cool thing though. I was able to wear my smaller clear glasses
to ride with no problem. Hoping for same w/19"

It's way to dark for smoked and the measurements are way off. I don't think you're picking nits. I would send it back.

John B. - I am currently looking into which windshield would be best for my 07' Softail Night Train. I stumbled across your post while searching and noticed your pics. Looks like Patterson Pass in Livermore, CA. That's one of my quick putt around town rides... Just thought that was funny. Anyhow, would you recommend this windshield or possibly a different brand? I was looking into National Cycles and pretty sold on those, but don't want to regret the decision.

Correct on the Patterson Pass. I was just up there Sunday

So this was from 2012. I would recommend the shield. I am very
happy with the taller one. My other thought would be a T-sport style
for a Night Train. I see one around here. Its probl a Softail Custom
but it looks good. Those fairings work real well too

I've also thought about a batwing for mine

After a few weeks of research and all that jazz, I just put in the order yesterday for a 14" Windvest with black hardware. Once I get it, I can't wait to dial it in. I'll be updating and adding my two cents on a few threads as well. I only am buying it for my trip from coast to coast to coast but may end up liking it so much and keeping it on. Thanks for the info though!
