Default Nacelle tips

Guys, I'm getting ready to fit the Nacelle which was picked up today from the dealer, Nacelle and trim ring are perfect so no worries about the chrome quality, I just need to make sure I have all I need to do the job before I go about stripping bits off.
Main issue I'm concerned about is the risers and riser cover.
On my ride I have Fatboy risers, I'm not sure how you measure these but they measure 1 1/2'' to the bottom of the bars, anyway I just thought I'd try the riser cover over the risers and bars as they sit now and its about 1/2'' short, meaning that unless the Nacelle fits differently then I think my risers might be too high, anyone help?, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but I really dont want to take anything apart until I have everything.

There are special risers for use with the riser cover. The part number should be in the instructions. They are relatively minimal and no chrome because they are covered up.

Thanks Tracker, I know there are specific ones but I know Chap and a few others just used there existing ones, so hopefully I can get some feedback on what size their risers are.

I was a the dealership yesterday and while talking to sales manager the Nacelle subject came up. I told him I had one that I am going to install on my Deluxe and he said that he wanted to install one on one of the Deluxe's on the floor but the head mechanic told him that they couldn't do it because you would lose the light bar. So, I had to explain to him the procedure of installing a Nacelle while keeping the light bar. So, he said the nacelle will be on the bike by next week. lol

LOL now that some funny chit right there!

Mark, I've been wondering the same thing about my 1 1/2" chubby Wild1 risers. Hope it works out for you and you don't have to swap them out. I'm wondering too if the Nacelle cover may set up high enough to make up that difference you mention? I know I've read that many have used other risers.

Lawnmowerman, those risers will work with your cover. I went out in the garage and popped the cover off my nacelle and the risers are 2". On
straight risers they are measured from the flat surface where the clamp
bolts on to the end where it is bolted to the crown. You have to take
in consideration that the cover bolts on top of the nacelle and it sets
above the crown. My risers are the stock risers used on Heritage, Deluxes
and Fatboys. Don't worry they will work just fine.

Alright Mark, I'm sure your risers will be ok, don't forget the Nacelle fits over the top yoke, so this will give you more clearance for the riser cover! Can't remember what size risers I used, whether 1" or 1.5"? But I still have clearance left above the bar & top of the cover!
Just note the chrome bolts that come with the kit aren't long enough due to the light bar, so you need new ones or use the horrible standard ones?
Another couple of things, when you drill the new hole for the aux light switch, make sure it's in the same place as original so there's clearance for the back of the switch against the fork leg, then the top bolt which secures the brake line to the rear of the nacelle catches the small bracket which the original back plate bolted onto, I just bent this up to give clearance for the end of the bolt & the nut which you now use.
