See pirates take off all the time with the jiffy down. I guess you can't have canceling turn signals and jiffy down switch on the same circuits. HD has one of the best side jiffy stands hands down.

We don't need more nanny state legislation.
Amen.

That is just one more switch to go bad. Happened on my Honda at which point I got rid of it.

I had a Suzuki C90 prior to the Limited. It had the switch and it seemed a little awkward that my Limited didn’t. Yes, I experienced taking off twice (that I can remember) with the stand down. After those experiences I’m a lot more conscious. Look at the bright side, no switch, less stuff to go bad.

He swore up and down that my bike would stall if I had her on the stand and put her in gear. The basis of my argument was that I'd never have a need for a stall switch because I would never ride with my stand down.

It has always just been second nature that when you stand a bike up, the stand goes up with it...I guess I've never thought about what would happen if I didn't, but even back during my drinking days, I never forgot. Now I have seen folks forget to put it down.

Guess the HD lawyers will need to direct HD to do like all companies and put stickers on every functional part so people know what and what not to do??
I admit forgetting to put it down a couple times

Thats not a safety issue. I use to ride my 1942 "45" with a foot clutch, a tank shift, and no front brake. That is a safety issue. LOL. I have never gott'n use to not having the spark advance on the left handle bar, and turn signals that at least turn off when you release them, or at least punch them twice. I really like to have manual control of most of the stuff on my bike. Probably just my age though.

And I guess some people like to be coddled by lawyers, legislation, and fancy bright colored warning stickers. The rest of us just learn how **** works. Pretty soon our pants will be labeled with "front", "back", "L" and "R" just to be sure we don't f@ck that up.

Harley sales the switches and they bolt right on, they plugs for them is right there to plug them in. Can be installed in 5 min. The only problem is they dont know how to program them to the ECM for them to work. I installed them on both my bikes and a month later still all i have is the switches lol. If anyone knows how to program them it would be very helpful. They are standard on all police bikes and all oversees models.
