Default Lowered '99

I started the tear down process of my '99, and in my plans I want to really slam it. Thing is I don't want spend the money on a Shotgun as I'm saving that for my Deluxe since my wife sometimes rides 2-up with me and we're both 6 foot so I need something that will handle us both.

If I could I woult weld on a rigid, but honestly I love the look of the stock fender and want to keep the struts.

I'm not worried about the ride as it's not being built for comfort, more so for speed. Suggestions on how to get it as low as possible without rubbing the fender?

They're totally adjustable. You can raise the bike an inch or lower down to as much as 2". The bolts for models 1984-1999 generally run from $75 to $100. It's a great option when funds are limited.

Sweet, thanks for the info Pan. Is there anything else out there that lowers it more than 2 inches, other than air ride.

Tks deadrider still work in progress chit never ends.

I have a rear 18" with 1" lowering bolts. The rear 18 gives it that tucked look. Some guys run 16 in the rear but 18 for me all the way. Not sure on the adjustable part but bolts r very cheap I think I paid $80 hopes this helps ride safe.

Get some bolt off eBay they will run ya about $16. They are the same that come in the $100 kits. Search YouTube. There is a great video on there showing how to install them. Also I have not seen any bolts that lower you past 2". I could have sworn I had seen a kit out there though that replaces your shocks with a steel rod though so its a rigid typ ride.

I think 2" is about max on the bolts. But like Pdiddy says, running an 18" will give you a more slammed look.

The $16.00 lowering bolts you seen on eBay are for 2000 up models. The lowest price I've seen on bolts for 1984-1999 was $75.00. Way over priced IMO, but still the least expensive way of lowering and retaining decent quality shocks.

I'll have to look into that, I really don't mind a rigid ride if it slams it. Plus it will give me an excuse to throw on some chopper Shox. ha!

Thanks Pan. The build plan is to go with an 18" in the rear so that will help with the slammed look as too, thanks.
