Yes, this is a bit unusual but my 5' tall wife can't seem to get flat footed due to the width of the 103 motor. This bike is already so low, you can scrape floorboards if you get too aggressive. But she needs more confidence when stopping so I told her I would look into lowering it in the rear. I called the stealership & get mixed information. They are making it sound like the "low" models can't go any lower. On line, I am finding inexpensive, generic, softail lowering kits like this one: http://www.demonscycle.com/Shocks/2-Rear-Shocks-Lowering-p9356437.html
Yes they will work in the Slim. could the floor boards be part of the problem too? you may want to put some forwards on that too. she must have short legs I have a friend that is the same size and she can get her feet down....just lower the back an inch and try that
How bout modifing the seat before destroying the already low suspension. How bout you sugguest your wife to wear boots with heels? Before you waste anymore money try doing something cheap like a seat mod and go support your local upholsterer.

You & I think alike, my friend. I took her heeled riding boots to a shop & had them add 1/2" to both the sole & heels. I was gonna go a full 1" but did not want her impersonating Herman Munster I also found out the local stealership has the HD "extended reach" seat in stock. Gonna take her & slim down to try it on for size before I plunk down the big bucks. I will get back with an update later this week.
I lowered my slim 1 1/2 and when I want to I scrape the hell outta the floor boards..The install is easy if you a have a press..If not remove the shocks and take the bolts and shocks to your local Indy shop and have them install the bolts..and you put the shocks back in...Good luck
