Ok, HD cut production so guess who gets less inventory? I know for a fact that one of the dealers in my area had gone through 95% of its new bike inventory by mid April. Where does that leave dealers for their busiest time of year, summer? In our area, the head tech at the dealership I go to said their only choice was to buy up used bikes to get them through the summer. And that's exactly what they're doing. It's probably the same where you are.

If you're a patient person, wait and find an individual seller and save some loot for mod money. Take a look at ebay, it's flooded with used bikes. If you really like the bike that you're looking at and want it "right now", buy it. The most important thing is to get the bike YOU want. If you pay a little bit more for it, big deal, you're happy and you're riding. Good luck in your decision.
Thanks for the info! You would think that if selling used bikes to get them through summer is what they are having to do, then they would be more flexible on selling the bikes and trying to move them. But then again, since used bikes is what they are using to get by maybe they are trying to get a premium for them.

The shop I found this bike at is not a Harley dealer, although they are certified to work on them. But they probably had 20 used Harleys on their floor.

I found another 2007 FXSTC but it is black, with 10k miles at a Harley dealer but it has the stock seat and is stock overall. They are asking $13900. I am going down their this morning to see how much they are willing to negotiate.

Great thread. Most of us end up putting thousands into our bikes after we buy them, so I would never hesitate to pay a little more for a bike I love than to get a deal on a bike I like.

The hard part is figuring out if you really love a bike because it's the right combination of model, color, accessories, and condition, or if you love it because it's in front of you.

Ye that makes perfect sense. In the end....its about getting what you want and if it means paying a ljttle more, oh well. Lol

I am going to look at one more this morning ... either way I go I should be signing the papers on one of them today.

I found a 2009 fxdf fat bob flat black with 4500 miles at a dealer..its basically stock with only having some slip ons and a different seat. I can get it for 12500 out the door...which is under retail but a little over trade in.

Does this seem like a decent deal to you guys? I think I like the looks of the fat bob and the way it sits better. Thoughts? (even though you guys are bias) lol

I can down to look at a black 07 softail custom but they want too much and it has more miles than the one in my original post. They wanted 14 for it out the door.

Get whatever suits you and is priced with what you can live with I have no experience with dynas but I know my bro in law and his buddy love theirs and tease me cause I'm the only "softie" in the group but it's all good natured and we all admire and appreciate each others bikes
Hell the fx front end on their bikes is what led me to my fxstc to start with lol
