Default Sundowner seat question...

Got a question....I just bought a older (2005 era) Sundowner seat for my 05 Heritage. When I got home and installed it on the scooter I noticed the seat doesn't have the two screws oneither side of the drivers seat, just the lip in front and the bracket on the passenger seat which was actually too long and had to take the one off of the stock seat I had on it.
Is this okay? It doesn't seem as secure to me as the stock seat was and if I push on the seat with my hand I get a rubing sound from the bottom of the seat on the frame or rear fender. I am guessing the two screws that was on the stock seat was for switching from two up to a solo setup.....Just kinda wierd that all that holds the seat on is the front lip and back screw.

That's the way mine mounts on my Night Train. And I've never had any problems with it. Mine is just a hair longer then stock seat but not much. I have to push the back of the seat towards the tank just a little to get it to line up. But its no problem on mine. I just don't like the look of it, but its very comfortable and the wife loves it. I only use it when she's riding with me. I have a HD Brawler solo seat that uses the bolt on each side too.

They changed that design in 06 when the fender struts came all the forward Over that bolt hole.

My Blackline stock seat is this way, and it is fine. Doesn't move when I'm sitting on it.

Also have a Sundowner for my 06. Rear bolt only and front tab. Works fine. To keep it from rubbing on the fender I use a plastic piece that pulls on and off easily.
