It is an 08 and now or this spring it started to miss and backfire, as well as kill when slowing down and coming to a stop sign. A f ull tank of gass seems to help. It also seems to run hot when this situatuon occurs. HD dealer can't find the problem any sugestions?

Reason: wrong heading
Had an issue once with mine. Bike would stall out when I pulled the clutch in at a stop. Ran hot, pinged and had a high idle at times. Of course the dealer couldn't replicate the problems but they did a flash update of the ecm for the high idle issue which I believe they said there was a tech bulletin on. In any case it solved all 4 of my problems.
Never had any backfiring or missing but I figured I'd throw my experience out there anyway.
My 08 heritage did this twice in the past year. I think I know what caused this but still not 100% sure. Mine happened right after the last two oil changes & after it happened I found oil under the rectifier cover that houses the front Oxygen sensor connector. I cleaned the area up as well as the connector for the O2 sensor & it's never happened again.. since the last time, I purchased the drain funnel for the filter from my HD dealer and modified it a bit. I went out & purchased a package of those magnets that have adhesive tape on the one side & stuck it to the funnel. Then trimmed it off so it's flush with the funnel. Now when it's time for an oil change, I won't have a big mess from taking off the filter..
As I said earlier, I'm not 100% sure that this is what caused it but it didn't happen at my last oil change after making that funnel & not spilling any used oil into that area..
does it throw any codes? need more info on the mods to the bike? how was the bike stored over the winter? have you used any seafoam to clean the injectors? any mods done over the winter?
